"World Domination" by Fatal Smile (Hard Rock Artist from Sweden)

Fatal Smile's latest album goes by the title of "World Domination." It is a continuation of this Swedish hard rocker's tradition of in-your-face music; and is mixed by Michael Wagener, who has worked with the likes of Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, and Mötley Crüe. In "No Tomorrow" Fatal Smile starts off slowly, building a gritty-momentum, before detonating into guitar-led mayhem. "S.o.b." is a song in which the tempo always stays high, with chunking guitars and chorus lyrics that are simply aimed at getting one pumped up. For "Eve of War" they supply more of a toe-tapping beat, still replete with the screeching guitars, but with more of a focus on methodically grooving alongside the intensity. "World Domination" is an album made fully in the Metal/Hard Rock mentality. If you are a fan of music like that of Metallica or Whitesnake, then this album, "World Domination" by Fatal Smile might be right up your alley.

"Nightmares" by Morphine Killer (Hard Rock Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

"Nightmares" is a haunting and dark metal album from Morphine Killer. Belle Roko leads this heavy metal music with sweet, melodic vocals and right behind her are the guttural growls you would expect from a Goth metal outfit like this. The song, "Pride Comes Before A Fall" shows off both Roko's exceptional singing abilities and the intense screams of Eski. Check out "Clutching Defeat" for a particularly fast-moving and energetic track complemented by the strong guitars and solid drum beats. Adding to the vocal talents, the guitars thrash with a fury of power chord mayhem that is loaded with vengeful hooks and riffs. Morphine Killer may have settled into something with a unique style on their album, "Nightmares" that could gather a large audience, so keep your eyes open and get your copy soon.

"Angelface" by Chapter ll feat. Natalie Chandra (Hard Rock Artist from Switzerland)

On "Angelface" the new CD from Chapter ll feat. Natalie Chandra, the rock comes fast and furious as blasts of roaring guitars punctuate swirls of synthesizer in an all-out attack of goth-influenced and hook-filled hard rock. Singer-songwriter Chandra brings a Pat Benatar-like vocal power to this 12-song collection, matching the intensity of her singing to larger-than-life anthems as well as moving power ballads. Highlights include CD-opener "Sulphur Anima," an insistent, synth-driven howl of rage; "Stop Looking Away," a Celtic-infused rocker with strains of bagpipe going head-to-head with a pile-driving heavy metal riff; the atmospheric ballad, "Scorned"; and the 8-minute opus, "Sekhmet's Summoning," a gothic anthem of melody and vision. With its nod to Northern European influenced Black Metal, Chapter ll feat. Natalie Chandra's "Angelface" CD is tailor-made for fans of Evanescence, Lacuna Coil and other theatrically-oriented bands who deliver epics of darkness and shadow like there's no tomorrow.

"Illuminus" by Azumuth (Hard Rock Artist from Australia)

"Illuminus" is the newest release by hard rock/alternative band Azumuth. The record wastes no time getting into heavy guitar riffs with the opening song "For You" but contrarily decorates softer moments with well balanced synths and vocal harmonies. Further surpassing alternative rock expectations is the piano ballad, "Illuminate" which is also accompanied by stunning synth strings. The broad influences and tones elevate this album beyond the typical and will grab hold of the listener with its edgy rock and outstanding musicians who perform with tight accuracy. There's also a nice element to the recordings that's sincere and vulnerably honest. For fans of modern rock with density, this is the new record to check out. The ever popular band, "Tool" may have found their new opening act.

"Soarce Mother Earth" by The Soarce (Hard Rock Artist from Texas(TX))

Hailing from Texas, The Soarce's stellar debut album, titled "Soarce Mother Earth," taps into the vein of late 60s or early 70s classic & progressive hard rock, as promulgated by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jethro Tull, Cream, & Led Zeppelin with the kind of polish & precision that separates the contenders from the pretenders. With blazing, shock-and-awe guitar skills, propulsive and climactic percussion runs, and inflamed, Jim Morrison-like vocal howls capable of raising the dead, The Soarce displays a mastery of their craft befitting their influences. Containing just 4 songs, but over twenty minutes in length, "Soarce Mother Earth" never lets up its sonic charge, closing out with a 7+ minute Hendrix-worthy opus ("Evening Sun") that's redolent with the master's flair for phrasing, tone, and sheer technique. The insatiable appetite for passionate Zeppelin-influenced hard rock is fulfilled by the kind of dramatics & nuance that The Soarce brings to the music scene with "Soarce Mother Earth," and fans of hard rock will definitely enjoy this album.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Rock Child with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Ten "

Rock Child's CD "Ten" is embedded with guitar-driven, hard core rock and roll. Reaching well beyond these roots, this group captures an edgy hard rock style using driving, distorted rock guitar riffs overlaid with melodic vocals. This is definitely a turn-up-the-volume classic rock CD with an edgy, raw sound. The album takes you on a journey of happiness and sorrow fused with poetic lyrics. "When the Sun is Coming Down" is a great example of this as the music is mysterious in tonality adding to the obscurity on this track. A powerful guitar intro leads us into the track "An Anticipation" leaving the listener wanting to hear more. If you're a fan of classic hard rock bands such as Black Sabbath then "Ten" is an album well worth checking out.

"Lunatic Binge" by CrimsonFaced (Hard Rock Artist from Pennsylvania(PA))

If Trent Reznor and Scott Weiland ever decided to make an album together, the result would most likely sound something like "Lunatic Binge" the recently released CD by CrimsonFaced. Although there are some obvious underlying classic rock tones, the album above all sounds more like a NIN record. The opening track alone, "Pretty People," screams of that genre and pretty much set up the theme of the entire record. Mike E.T. The Alien (yes- that is his name) delivers Stone Temple Pilot style vocals throughout the disc, as you can hear on "Lost Innocense." Even the guitars have that DeLeo brothers tone to them. If you own STP's "Purple" record, then you will surely want to hear "Lunatic Binge."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Eloah with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Ode to Brother Horn"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Eloah with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Ode to Brother Horn"

"Ode to Brother Horn" is a great new age/progressive album from Austrian musician Eloah fueled by poetic lyrics and excellent guitar and piano work. This is an inspired album, a grouping of songs from the early '90s that Eloah presented to his then-mentor Jörg Horner (Brother Horn) whose memory this album is dedicated to. Eloah's arrangements are truly exceptional, ranging from new age tracks with flute and saxophone to beautiful piano ballads to outstanding acoustic and electric rock compositions to riff-driven hard rock. Eloah's vocal performance has variety to it, but it is ever-haunting, whether he sings in his natural deep bass or in a quiet near-whisper. "Ode to Brother Horn" is well-produced, and the entire album sounds clean and professional. "Paradise Lost" features some great acoustic work, a nice drum beat, and a chilling vocal performance. "You Have Never Been Mine" has a great arrangement that begins with a nice acoustic guitar and drum progression, and is then matched by electric guitar and piano. "The Human Legacy" has a more progressive hard rock sound with heavy guitar riffs, a nice beat, and haunting vocals. Eloah has put together an album that would make Brother Horn proud, filled with skillful arrangements and poetic lyrics. Fans of new age and progressive rock should definitely pick this one up.
