These artistic musicians take their talents and weave a collection of fantastic Rock songs with an appealing style, which is sometimes reminiscent of the '80's, but with a modern touch. They take their influences from bands such as Pink Floyd to Rage Against the Machine to compose these terrific songs. The title track, "Closer to the Brain" has a superb keyboard solo (which is something not often heard today) and a great groove rhythmically and vocally. Hold onto your seats as you hear the song, "Dirty Electricity," as this song has searing guitar licks, gritty vocals, and a tight drummer who keeps the beat flowing in double time. The last track, "Cake," has a mellower tone but still maintains the enticing sound this tight knit group has to offer. For "Greed" we hear how Murr can belt out powerful lyrics and do it well, in this tenacious song about the evils of greed. This album is created for those who love the sound and attitude of metal rock from the 1980's, and for those who can appreciate a Christian message as well. The title track, "Six Feet Down," is an impressive number that begins with a strong and solid vocalist and accompanying piano before climaxing into a thumping rock song with string highlights and bellowing guitars. "Oceans of Time" is a number that contemplates some of life's darker issues in a song that is both unhurried yet aggressive while the instruments give way to the mysterious tonality. This is an album in which true hardcore Metal/Punk music is being played, yet with more introspective and perceptible messages and lyrics. The fast paced song,"1 Beer, 1 Shot, 1 Memory" offers up some free spirited lyrics swirling around strong and solid drum beats. The Punk sounding song, "Young Girl, Bad Idea" is energetic with crisp vocals projecting attitude while the drums deliver a fury of riffs and beats. "My Own Sinking Ship" is a song that uses entertaining and quick paced lyrics along with the band harmonizing with whimsical style over a duple beat. In "No Tomorrow" Fatal Smile starts off slowly, building a gritty-momentum, before detonating into guitar-led mayhem. "S.o.b." is a song in which the tempo always stays high, with chunking guitars and chorus lyrics that are simply aimed at getting one pumped up. For "Eve of War" they supply more of a toe-tapping beat, still replete with the screeching guitars, but with more of a focus on methodically grooving alongside the intensity. "World Domination" is an album made fully in the Metal/Hard Rock mentality. Belle Roko leads this heavy metal music with sweet, melodic vocals and right behind her are the guttural growls you would expect from a Goth metal outfit like this. The song, "Pride Comes Before A Fall" shows off both Roko's exceptional singing abilities and the intense screams of Eski. Check out "Clutching Defeat" for a particularly fast-moving and energetic track complemented by the strong guitars and solid drum beats. Adding to the vocal talents, the guitars thrash with a fury of power chord mayhem that is loaded with vengeful hooks and riffs. Morphine Killer may have settled into something with a unique style on their album, "Nightmares" that could gather a large audience, so keep your eyes open and get your copy soon.

-Matt M. and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team
Check out Morphine Killer's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

"Angelface" by Chapter ll feat. Singer-songwriter Chandra brings a Pat Benatar-like vocal power to this 12-song collection, matching the intensity of her singing to larger-than-life anthems as well as moving power ballads. Highlights include CD-opener "Sulphur Anima," an insistent, synth-driven howl of rage; "Stop Looking Away," a Celtic-infused rocker with strains of bagpipe going head-to-head with a pile-driving heavy metal riff; the atmospheric ballad, "Scorned"; and the 8-minute opus, "Sekhmet's Summoning," a gothic anthem of melody and vision. With its nod to Northern European influenced Black Metal, Chapter ll feat. Natalie Chandra's "Angelface" CD is tailor-made for fans of Evanescence, Lacuna Coil and other theatrically-oriented bands who deliver epics of darkness and shadow like there's no tomorrow.

-Rice B. and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer team
Check out Chapter II feat. As you listen to the talents of Motyka you can feel the intensity and precise precision his fingers drive home on these artistic and interesting songs. You'll be hooked from the first track, "Betrayer's Trust" as Motyka delivers razor sharp guitars burning with melodic hooks and riffs. The fire and passion rise off the strings on "The Romantical" as the guitar bellows with emotive obsession. This tight and well focused group displays their passion for performing hard driving music with raging vocals, guitars, and drums. The title track, "A Means to an End," has bellowing guitars, vocals with gruff and tough attitude, and strong and solid drums that keep the beat rock solid. Spectacular double bass drum riffs heats up on the song, "Here is" as the razor sharp guitars drives it home with powerful riffs and hooks. Bringing down the heavy thrashing to a softer side, the ballad, "A Perfect World" displays complementing harmonies to the emotive lead vocals while guitar and drums top off this magnetic song. The record wastes no time getting into heavy guitar riffs with the opening song "For You" but contrarily decorates softer moments with well balanced synths and vocal harmonies. Further surpassing alternative rock expectations is the piano ballad, "Illuminate" which is also accompanied by stunning synth strings. The broad influences and tones elevate this album beyond the typical and will grab hold of the listener with its edgy rock and outstanding musicians who perform with tight accuracy. There's also a nice element to the recordings that's sincere and vulnerably honest. For fans of modern rock with density, this is the new record to check out. With blazing, shock-and-awe guitar skills, propulsive and climactic percussion runs, and inflamed, Jim Morrison-like vocal howls capable of raising the dead, The Soarce displays a mastery of their craft befitting their influences. Containing just 4 songs, but over twenty minutes in length, "Soarce Mother Earth" never lets up its sonic charge, closing out with a 7+ minute Hendrix-worthy opus ("Evening Sun") that's redolent with the master's flair for phrasing, tone, and sheer technique. The insatiable appetite for passionate Zeppelin-influenced hard rock is fulfilled by the kind of dramatics & nuance that The Soarce brings to the music scene with "Soarce Mother Earth," and fans of hard rock will definitely enjoy this album.

Rock Child's CD "Ten" is embedded with guitar-driven, hard core rock and roll. Reaching well beyond these roots, this group captures an edgy hard rock style using driving, distorted rock guitar riffs overlaid with melodic vocals. This is definitely a turn-up-the-volume classic rock CD with an edgy, raw sound. The album takes you on a journey of happiness and sorrow fused with poetic lyrics. "When the Sun is Coming Down" is a great example of this as the music is mysterious in tonality adding to the obscurity on this track. A powerful guitar intro leads us into the track "An Anticipation" leaving the listener wanting to hear more. If you're a fan of classic hard rock bands such as Black Sabbath then "Ten" is an album well worth checking out.

-Diane and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team
Check out Rock Child 's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

Check out Azumuth, one of RadioIndy's favorite Hard Rock artists
Radioindy Artist Spotlight for Azumuth

Band Name: Azumuth
Band Location: Australia
Sounds Like: Faith no More, Evanescence, SOAD
Visit Band's Website: click here

"Ten" by Rock Child (Hard Rock Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

Rock Child's CD "Ten" is embedded with guitar-driven, hard core rock and roll. Reaching well beyond these roots, this group captures an edgy hard rock style using driving, distorted rock guitar riffs overlaid with melodic vocals. This is definitely a turn-up-the-volume classic rock CD with an edgy, raw sound. The album takes you on a journey of happiness and sorrow fused with poetic lyrics. "When the Sun is Coming Down" is a great example of this as the music is mysterious in tonality adding to the obscurity on this track.
"Ode to Brother Horn" is a great new age/progressive album from Austrian musician Eloah fueled by poetic lyrics and excellent guitar and piano work. This is an inspired album, a grouping of songs from the early '90s that Eloah presented to his then-mentor Jörg Horner (Brother Horn) whose memory this album is dedicated to. Eloah's arrangements are truly exceptional, ranging from new age tracks with flute and saxophone to beautiful piano ballads to outstanding acoustic and electric rock compositions to riff-driven hard rock. Eloah's vocal performance has variety to it, but it is ever-haunting, whether he sings in his natural deep bass or in a quiet near-whisper. "Ode to Brother Horn" is well-produced, and the entire album sounds clean and professional. "Paradise Lost" features some great acoustic work, a nice drum beat, and a chilling vocal performance. "You Have Never Been Mine" has a great arrangement that begins with a nice acoustic guitar and drum progression, and is then matched by electric guitar and piano. "The Human Legacy" has a more progressive hard rock sound with heavy guitar riffs, a nice beat, and haunting vocals. Eloah has put together an album that would make Brother Horn proud, filled with skillful arrangements and poetic lyrics. Fans of new age and progressive rock should definitely pick this one up.

-Chris & the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team
Check out http://cdbaby.name/e/l/eloah9.jpg 's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

"Azumuth" is the self-titled full-length debut from Australian hard rock/alt-metal band Azumuth. Azumuth is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Aidan Dickens, whose soaring vocals and vocal diversity fuel the entire album and well-complement the heavy backing arrangements. The great guitar and drum work and varying methods of creating ambience combined with Dickens' diverse and all-out vocals sounds like a combination of Thursday, Thrice, System of a Down, and Faith No More. Dickens' lyrics are intelligent and meaningful, the songs melodic, and the choruses extremely catchy and memorable, since Dickens never fails to let it all out on the choruses. "Azumuth" is well-produced, sounds polished, and is ready for alternative radio play. "Ends of the Earth" is a mood-setting track with a nice arrangement, great lyrics, and group vocals with an overall sound similar to Thursday. "Disarray" is a great System of a Down-esque track with heavy drums, heavier distortion, and quick lyrical delivery from Dickens. "Azumuth" is a great full-length debut from Aidan Dickens and Azumuth and is as worthy of breaking through to the mainstream as the groups that clearly influenced them. This compilation is recommended for fans of Faith No More, Evanescence, and early System of a Down. Azumuth's powerful hard rock vocals are belted out to the heavens on this album. "Degenerator (Voodoo Doll Mix)" is an interesting electronic/techno remix of the single which is similar to some of the heavier tracks by New World Order, Chemical Brothers, and at times even a little like Linkin Park.
Check out eloah's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

“Azumuth” by Azumuth (Hard Rock/Metal/Punk Artist from Australia)

Fans of hard rock and alt-metal should definitely pick this one up.
-Chris & the RadioIndy.com Review Team
Check out Azumuth's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

"Degenerator - EP" by Azumuth (Hard Rock/Metal/Punk Artist from Victoria, Australia)

"Degenerator - EP" by Azumuth is an excellent hard rock album which features multiple creative takes on their song "Degenerator." This compilation is recommended for fans of Faith No More, Evanescence, and early System of a Down. The EP is an interesting experiment in production and its effect on the overall sound, mood and genre of a song. Furthermore, the EP shows that a well-written song, with a nice build to a powerful and memorable chorus, can work well in many different subgenres. Freedom was just a regular guy going through a regular divorce when he was set up for a crime that landed him innocent, and in prison for seven and a half years. While in prison, he picked up guitar and played for a band of inmates. He learned the excellent production techniques that he used on this album, as well as how to play all of the instruments heard on the album. Freedom's sound has been hailed as modern vintage rock, since it derives from '80s metal with shredding guitars and authoritative grunts reminiscent of Metallica and Mötley Crüe. The other facet to the sound is a Pink Floyd-influenced psychedelic acoustic. Combine that with modern hard rock and modern lyrics, and there you have it. The lyrics on "Violate Propriety" are biting, thoughtful, and intellectual as Freedom sings about heartbreak, failure of the institution of marriage, and celebrating life for what it is. "Allison Wonderland" is a song about the"It" girl with great rhyming, storytelling lyrics with the memorable chorus, "You wanna, I wanna, we wanna Allison Wonderland." "Threading the Needle" is an instrumental track that shows Freedom's musical capabilities as he shreds on the guitar and delivers a great backing arrangement. "Violate Propriety" is a great, intelligent hard rock album with a great story. Fans of modernized '80s metal and true-to-life lyricism, give Freedom a chance.
-Chris & the RadioIndy.com Review Team
Check out FREEDOM's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

"Uncensored” by Whiskysam (Hard Rock Artist from North Dakota(ND))

Whiskysam's "Uncensored" is a riff-driven hard rock album that will truly make your head bang like it was 1986. This album boasts an amazing twenty-three tracks of non-stop, action-packed North Dakota rock & roll. The album, although mostly hard rock, has some unique experimental tracks; "Kiss," for instance, has aspects of many genres, including techno and trance. The album also has some slower ballad songs such as the heartfelt confession of true love in "You." "Sexy" is another standout track, with a true-to-their-roots hard rock riff, a blistering guitar solo, and some synth in the background. "Uncensored" uses great production techniques, including vocal effects and synth backgrounds to fatten up the already extremely heavy sound, while maintaining the rawness of the vocals and arrangements. Overall, "Uncensored" is a great pickup with a solid collection of songs from an up-and-coming band that everyone should take notice of. Great for fans of Creed, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, and hard rock in general.
-Ross Shotland
Check out Whiskeysam Band's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

"New Wine” by Realign (Hard Rock Artist from Illinois(IL))

"New Wine" is a progressive Christian hard rock album from Realign, a tight band with a cutting edge sound. The listener is immediately pulled in by Realign's awesome driving guitar sound that, combined with energetic yet sensitive vocals and a killer rhythm section, is a recipe for a winner. Realign has a great rock sound, with an overall vocal and musical performance similar to Rush, Incubus, and Christian hard rock band Chevelle. The production quality of "New Wine" is fantastic, mixed to really bring everything forward and electrify your ear drums. The quality of sound can also be attributed to a well-layered sound created by polished musicians. Highlights include the title track, "New Wine," which opens the album musically and establishes the spiritual and driven sound of the album. "Lapse in Judgement" opens with a haunting piano line and atmospheric synths, then erupts into a rocker. "Far From Yesterday" features a hot guitar riff, cool changes, and intricate drum work. With "New Wine," Realign has bridged the gap between secular and non-secular music with a great mainstream rock sound and Christianity-inspired lyrics. If you enjoy highly dynamic hard rock with a big sound and powerful vocals, check out Realign.
-William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team
Check out Realign 's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

"Never Cancel the Stage!" by Two Ton Shoe (Hard Rock Artist from Boston, Massachusetts(MA))

"Never Cancel the Stage!" by Two Ton Shoe is a funk rock album with elements of dance and club brought to you by a talented group of musicians. The first thing you notice about these guys is that they have a sound that is truly their own. You get wicked bass, precise and creative drumming, slinky guitar, and party-minded vocals and lyrics that create a sound not dissimilar from Jamiroquai. There are a great deal of twists and turns in these songs, ranging from soulful, acoustic love songs to funky dance music that won't let you sit still. The arrangements are all solid, with great care taken in making the sound full and really creating a musical experience. The recording quality is excellent – the louder the speakers, the better. Highlights include "Move in the Light," a bumper and a shaker with a driving beat and nice vocal harmony. "Free" features some tricky guitar work, nice accents, and a soulful vocal performance. "Space Bugs (Gilmania Remix)" closes things out with a funked out bass line and a serious groove that makes you want to move. Booze, drugs and rock is the name of the game with most of the tracks on the CD. You get big, crunchy guitar riffs, thick rolling rhythms, and true rock vocals on the classic rock tracks. That's the recipe, plain and simple. The influence of 70's and 80's rock is very apparent in their sound on most of the tracks. There's no trickery involved in the rock tracks, just straight up rock n' roll. At the same time, on some of the tracks, the band turns the amps down for ballads that feature female vocals, which add a nice variety to the tracks. This CD is a good rock package that sticks to its roots. Highlights include the opener "Whisky Babe," an excellent kickoff song, with a killer riff and a pumping rhythm section. "Home" breaks it down into a slower tempo and features female vocals. "What Matters the Most" uses an interesting production effect to transition from a car radio sound to a rockin' ballad with gentle female vocals. "Make Me Beg" closes things out nicely with raunchy slide guitar and a punchy rhythm. The boys are tight, giving you stellar changes in their arrangements and providing you with a formula for hard partying. The high energy raspy vocals, are perfect for this genre. It is straight up rock by a very talented band. The band uses tight breaks and harmonies effectively on a number of tracks. "Cocked and Loaded" and "Feel Good" really hit the mark with great riffs and a flow that leaves you wanting more. "I Remember" is a powerful stadium ballad with soulful lyrics - a definite sing-along. The lyrically weighty "Chapter 13" represents a strong acoustic effort infused with fervent emotion and very effective vocals as it tackles the issue of death and meaning. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this CD is its very purposeful, nostalgic, political, and unrefined lyrics. "Oh, Holy Television" is another stand-out track that demonstrates this with lyrics that are relevant and spiced with a nice dose of cynicism. Overall, this CD offers songs that are for the thinking-person, songs that exude warmth through minimal production, and most importantly, songs that defy the boundaries of traditional rock and enters the creative realm of experimentation.

-Xavier and the RadioIndy Team

Check out Michael Burgin's music on RadioIndy.com with link to purchase and links to popular sites

“Sila” by Babayaga Ojo (Hard Rock/Punk artist from Poland)

Hailing from Poland, the powerhouse punk band Babayaga Ojo delivers a jewel case full of non-stop electricity and energy with "Sila." Screaming electric guitars, booming bass lines, and window-shattering drums best describe the musical platform of this band. Moreover, the vocal performances on this record are full of vigor and power. "Zadyma" exemplifies Babayaga's hardcore musical edge and phenomenal drum arrangements. Dark, Electrifying, and chest-pounding best describe this attention-grabbing collection. Thrilling guitar work takes the center stage, backed by hard-hitting drumming. Vocally, this band gives it all they've got – literally. "Funeral Whore" demonstrates AVG's stunning guitar work and overzealous vocals. "A Vision Grotesque" also stands out as very radio-friendly, and showcases the sheer performance power that this band radiates. Lyrically, AVG strikes gold with their well-written metaphoric messages.
